Curiosity

Postby Chemicalbonbonne » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:33 pm

Everyone has always been parts of an ever-wandering race, seeking to grasp everything unknown, and fearing anything it cannot. With its numerous light-manifested hands and its seemingly bottomless mouth, Curiosity is the demon that embodies this. Being a very rare demon, Curiosity stays but a legend, as no living witnesses to its visitation exists. It is said that with its huge, ever-gazing black hole-like eyes, it is the patron of children who frolic, exploring the fresh world around them. Records state that a tiny rabbit was seen when man discovered fire, this was said to be an avatar of the demon, gracing humanity in a strangely benevolent manner. Needless to say fire greatly uplifted the human lifestyle, but has also taken countless lives from it.

There is a popular story based on this “guardian”. Hard-working children who put effort into their studies are visited by Curiosity, being graced with one-of-a-kind toys and treats, now considered relics, while lazy children who do not bring themselves to learn anything are also visited, being taken away by Curiosity’s multitude of ray-like arms and devoured. There are more depictions of Curiosity in other stories, such as sloth-like people who do nothing but pleasure themselves being suffocated or sliced by a long, black snake, houses of recluses being shred down by two large white chainsaws, or people trying to shut down schools being grabbed and taken to the sky, never to be seen again. Contrary to this, wise hermits are given grace, such as improved sight or longer life, studious scholars are rewarded with treasured artifacts, all after seeing a large rabbit head.

True to all of these stories and more, enlightened depictions portray Curiosity as a large, snow white rabbit-like head containing arm-shaped light with teeth to match, its two ears being chainsaws. Around these are two glove-like hands, almost the size of its head, those a gentleman would wear. Its earlier mentioned eyes are on its huge head, it has a spiked collar as well, huge, matching the size of its head. Attached to this is the tie-like snake, known to slither and slice. Some say that there is also an orb, tiny compared to its size, following it around, with razor-sharp teeth. It is presumed to be the tail.

So it's like a floating head?

a floating rabbit head... sounds epic, will it be a rabbit head exactly or something resembling a rabbit head?

Although it seems a bit... childish? With the bunny head and all. We could do some menacing tweaks to it once we have a draft of what it's originally supposed to look like

Or it could be something that resembles a rabbit head. Perhaps it is just shaped like a rabbit head that is why people mistake it for a rabbit head but its actually different.
