About the water cleaner. It's a cave that has a natural well-like structure in. It has either plants or crystals cleaning the water. What do you think?

If all the clean water is coming from a single cave (which I'm assuming isn't mass produced), then maybe the fountain-themed city isn't a very likely idea.

Unless the water in the fountains is not the awesome water. That would explain it.

Let's say the well isn't that deep, so the fact that it's kinda far from the Glothyris makes water scarce. So water isn't used so audaciously?

What do you imagine the city to be shaped like? I was thinking it could be round, composed of two circles; the inner circle is for the upper class, so it's elevated (you have to climb stairs and go through a gate or something to get to it), and the outer circle is bigger for the lower-class maybe?

So the big city square is in the center of the upper-class area, and there's a fountain? Water's a pretty big thing in Thealith, sooo. How about in addition to having the best water cleaning powrzz ever, they treat the purified water with herbs and give it healing powers? That could be additional income for them, since they could market it to other towns and cities that don't have that advanced medicine maybe?

That said, the idea of a butt-fountain has a lot of potential. Maybe there could be one constructed by an aesthetically misguided architect. =))

Well, the fountain thing was just to make the capital all shiny and stuff. I dunno what to do to make it look "majestic" and stuff.

I was thinking add a series of aquaducts. A large building accredited for the purification and distribution of water around the city. The monarchy being one that is collapsing as the king is sick and slowly dying, rumor has it his water was poisoned and so might the city's water as well. His sons are now trying to seize power over the city while the rest of the nobles are becoming powerless in the struggle as they themselves have been getting ill. Each son has divided the armies of the city and now wage war against each other claiming parts of the city as their own.

I thought of a layout for the city itself.

North - Nobility and Royalty Area
East - Scholars' Area
Center - Middle-Class Area
West - Industrial Sector/Slums
City Entrance leads directly to the Middle-Class Area

The northern part of the city is the area where most of the nobility live. This area has the cleanest streets, and the most extravagant residences. At the north-most part of this area is the palace of the monarch, where the king/queen and their family resides, and where he/she would manage the city from. Somewhere at the center of the Nobility area is the barracks of the knights that reside in the city.

I believe it was mentioned that the Ehrui had technicians and mechanics. With that being said, I imagined that their capital would have a steam-powered industrial sector to the west of the city. By industrial sector, I meant something like a place where they built machine factories and great forges for their knights' weapons. The half of the industrial sector that is closer to the center consists of the factories where machinery is built, and where the blacksmiths manage their steam-forges. Around the sidewalks and alleys, you would see mechanics working on their creations, and blacksmiths' assistants selling weaponry and armor for their masters. The half that is farther from the center would have run-down factories, which have been abandoned for years, and are currently functioning as a sort of living space for those who cannot sustain themselves in the middle-class area of the city.

East of the city is where the great minds of the Ehrui go for knowledge, The Great Library. The Great Library contains all the knowledge of the Ehrui as a people and as a nation. Ehrui scholars have always made sure that everything from Ehrui history, to myths and legends. Most of the residential areas near the Great Library are home to the scholars that frequent the tomes and scripts of the library.

The center of the capital of the great Ehrui nation contains the middle-class area of the city. Here you will find your usual friendly neighbors and your everyday city-goers. around the city square (maybe the city circle), you will find a number of stands selling a wide variety of foods, clothing, and accessories, among other things. Near the city entrance is a guards' station where, obviously, the guards are stationed. Now, the original monarch had a good reason for putting the residential areas at the center. The old monarch believed that this would inspire a kind of belief in the people that they were put in the center because they were important to the city. This belief is the reason for the Ehrui's undying loyalty to its kingdom, and the reason why so many become knights and pledge their loyalty to the crown.
