The Kod-Mezu wanted to use their magic to create tough soldiers to compensate their physical weakness. Among these projects were the fusion of battle-capable animals to create a new breed of creatures to fight for them. The most successful of these creations, and in a sense the most disastrous, is the Chimera. The creature is the fusion of a Dire Wolf from the Solfinir Woods, a Markhor mountain goat from the Delinir Mountains, a Viper Snake from the Thelsphyr Desert, and a captured lesser demon of unknown origin. The last ingredient in particular was what made the Chimera possible. The inherent magical energy of the demon is what held the Chimera together and allowed it to continue to function, unlike other experiments that died painful deaths seconds after their creation, usually in a bloody mess.
Unable to contain their dangerous creation, the Chimera broke free and fled from the Solfinir Woods. It wandered for a while, until it found that its goat legs were well suited for the Delinir Mountains and finally settled there. It occasionally comes into contact with the Nyu' Kyoabe and the other native creatures of the mountains, rarely leaving any survivors.
Physiology: The main body of the Chimera is of the Markhor, making the Delinir Mountains a natural home for it. It has the head of a Dire Wolf, though the twisted horns of the Markhor are also present. It's tail is a living Viper, which attacks by lunging at enemies and delivering its poison with its hooked fangs. The presence of the demon has warped the creature as a whole. Mottled red and black spots appear all over the creature. Many of its features are made to look more fearsome, mainly the wolf and snake head. The wolf head has a longer snout, bigger jaw and larger teeth. The viper grows many small, sharp horns along its head and body. As a whole, the Chimera is the size of a double-decker bus from snout to rear, with its tail being equally long (I don't know meters and feet, sorry).
Behavior: The demon aspect of the Chimera made it semi-intelligent. It learns fast, and can even employ tactics in battle. However, it still isn't a fully sentient being, only being smart enough to become a dangerous predator of the mountains. Its goat legs let it traverse the terrain with ease. The viper head serves as its main attack as it prefers to let the poison finish off its enemies for it. Sometimes its prey will be difficult, often because of the machinations of the Nyu' Kyoabe. Should such a problem arise, it will not hesitate to pounce and use its sharp wolf fangs to tear its enemy. It may also use its goat legs to deliver powerful blunt blows. Once its prey is incapacitated or dead, it will feast on it. The Chimera usually doesn't attack unless it's hungry or when its territory is trespassed.
Territory: The Chimera makes its home high up in an abandoned mine in the Delinir mountains. This particular mine only has a few passageways as the Nyu' Kyoabe found little minerals to extract from it, and so abandoned it quickly. The Chimera uses the darkness of this mine to blind its enemies. The echoing passageways also confuse any would-be trespassers. The darkness doesn't deter the Chimera as it uses its sense of smell to track its prey.

Chimera Spawn
The Chimera's poison is unique in that not only does it paralyze its victims, but given a long enough time, actually transforms them. Poisoned survivors that weren't eaten by the Chimera were eventually warped and disfigured by the demon-infused poison. The victims began to look like the Chimera, but dominant traits vary depending on the species of the victim. The most abundant form of Chimera Spawn would be the Nyu' Kyoabe. The short goblins grow a little taller, their skin turns to a dull red, they get canine teeth, their hands become tough as stone, and they get a stinger tail. Chimera Spawns are generally loners, and they treat life as if it's every man for himself. The only occasion where they work together is to take down difficult prey, and afterwards they will fight each other for the spoils. Chimera Spawns fight by a variety of methods. They can either bite their enemy with their teeth, pummel them with their bare fists, or sting them with their tail. Chimera Spawn venom has the same transforming properties as the original Chimera's, but it's slower acting. Chimera Spawn are quick to flee when they know they're fighting a losing battle, but not when they are desperate for food.
