The Crystal Shields were introduced by the Kod-mezu as their first set of warriors whom stray from the conventional professions that involve magic. The original Crystal Shields were Kod-mezu that had higher bone densities than the average, thus enabling them to carry larger masses on their person.
Crystal Shields often cover their arms with weights and mainly use, obviously, shields as offensive weapons rather than defensive weapons. To make up for their lightweight bodies, the weights on their arm make their bashes stronger and faster, gaining momentum and the like. The only time magic is used is for accuracy, where their “mind's eye” is used to direct each blow.
